Anthony has worked in elite sporting organisations for 20 years and in that time has experienced the highs & lows that sport offers
From building a licensing program off the back of Michael Jordan & the Chicago Bulls at NBA Australasia in the mid-1990s to the world dominance of Steve Waugh’s Australian Cricket Team in the early days of the new millennium, Anthony has been engaged with the commercial engines of high performing global sporting organisations.
Anthony has built a career in the commercial operation of Australian Rules football teams. Harnessing the passion & emotion of team sport, Anthony has worked with Richmond Football Club and St Kilda Football Club for a total of 10 AFL seasons.
The highs are very high with consecutive AFL Grand Final appearances with St Kilda FC in 2009 & 2010 and the lows are valuable learning experiences such as Richmond FCs last place in 2004.
Anthony joined the Australian Sports Commission to lead the Participation & Sustainable Sports Division working with the leaders of Australian sports to build stronger, more effective and commercially successful organisations. Although the ASC tenure was brief, considerable advances were made in ASC’s approach to participation and securing a major commitment from the Commonwealth for the Sporting Schools initiative which launches in mid-2015.
In October 2014, Anthony commenced as CEO of Basketball Australia.
As a parent of 3 active children, Anthony is engaged in grassroots sports as a volunteer, as an administrator and as a coach.
